February 2002 – Concrete form work on cutting edge for Pier 37
The concrete dock, just upriver from the bridge site. Concrete trucks will deliver their loads to waiting barges, which will then transport it for pouring.

Concrete forms rise along the perimeter of the cutting edge structure, which will eventually be the base of the caisson for pier 37.
Protective wooden structures are built around the air domes of the cutting edge.
Concrete forms rise along the perimeter of the cutting edge, while protective wooden structures are built around the air domes. Forms will also be placed around the wooden boxes, and concrete will be poured into the grid.
The outer walls of the caisson will be four feet thick.
