6:58 a.m. – Tow boats take their place behind the cutting edge. |

7:18 a.m. – The tow boat Laura Elizabeth, flanked by two smaller tows, begins to move the cutting edge from its mooring. |

7:20 a.m. – The Laura Elizabeth backs away slowly with the river current and guides the cutting edge a short distance down river… |

7:43 a.m. – … then powers up her engines to push the cutting edge against the river flow. |

8:07 a.m. – The tow boat Ray Pensrum helps to guide the cutting edge into its stall behind the chevron-shaped breakwater. |
