This listing of construction milestones is maintained directly by Greenville Bridge project field personnel.


Contract to Open New Bridge – Stripe, Sign and Surface the new bridge. Switch Traffic to the new bridge and Demolish the old bridge. Contract to be let in fall of 2009.

Arkansas Approach to the Main Span Unit – Construct 4600 feet of bridge plus connecting roadway. Work started in the spring of 2006 and completion is expected in the summer of 2009.

Mississippi Approach to the Main Span Unit – Construct 6500 feet of bridge plus connecting roadway. Work started in the spring of 2005 and completion is expected in the spring of 2008.

BRIDGE SPAN COMPLETE – Final floorbeam installed in closure span; final concrete deck panels installed; final closure pours between remaining deck panels.

Piers 37-38: MAIN SPAN CLOSURE – Superstructure erection meets between bridge towers

Pier 39 Tiedown: Superstructure reaches Pier 39 (anchor pier, Mississippi shore)

Pier 36 Tiedown: Superstructure reaches Pier 36 (anchor pier, Arkansas shore)– COMPLETED JANUARY 2006
